How to edit currencies

  1. Select Currency from the Options menu in Symbian or the main menu in Maemo
  2. Press Edit
  3. To add a new currency
    1. Input a 3 letter currency code in the Currency field
    2. Input the exchange rate against 1 Euro in the Rate field
      • If you the currency is pegged to US Dollar, check Pegged to the US Dollar and input the exchange rate against 1 US Dollar instead
    3. Use the Description field to write a description
  4. Press Add
  5. Repeat the procedure if you want to add more currencies

 


To remove an existing currency

  1. Find the currency you wish to remove by selecting it in the scroll list
    • You can only remove custom currencies
  2. Press Remove
  3. Repeat the procedure if you want to remove more currencies

 


To edit a currency

  1. Find the currency you wish to edit by selecting it in the scroll list
  2. Edit the exchange rate against 1 Euro in the Rate field
    • If Pegged to the US Dollar is checked, input the exchange rate against 1 US Dollar instead
  3. Edit the description in the Description field
    • You can only edit the description of custom currencies
  4. Press Modify
  5. Repeat the procedure if you want to edit more currencies

NOTE: Custom currencies will not receive the exchange rate update from the Internet, so you have to adjust the rates manually for them. However, if the currency is pegged to the US Dollar, then the rate is recalculated against the Euro during the update. Therefore its rate should be accurate as long as its rate against the US Dollar doesn't change.
